Is it possible to profit from resale rights?

Ok, back to business :-)

I get a lot of emails asking if it is really possible to make money from selling products over which you have purchased the resale rights. It certainly seems the easier option - after all, buying an eBook that someone else has written is far less stressful than writing an eBook yourself.

Given that my new site above includes many products with resale rights, I thought I would try and answer this question......

The truth is that yes, it is possible to make a lot of money with products that you have purchased resale rights to. The trick is deciding on the right products to sell and packaging them in a way that is attractive to your visitors.

If you choose top quality products that are relevant to the content of your website then there is no reason why you should not be able to sell resale rights products to your customers. Many products allow you to re-package the eBook (or whatever) and this gives you the freedom to put together an exclusive package of, say, 10 eBooks all for one low price.

If the product is good and the price is right, people will buy.....it really doesn't matter who actually wrote the eBook. That said, if you purchase resale rights to a 'big-name' product, ie. one that people have heard of or that has a 'famous' author/developer, you will find that the product sells even more easily since the pre-selling has already been done. Of course, it costs far more to purchase the resale rights to products such as this but it can be worthwhile if you have a large enough customer base to market to.

Another way to use resale rights to your advantage is to add a product over which you have resale rights as a bonus when selling your own product (as long as the resale rights agreement allows you to do this). This gives your customer even better value for money, without costing you anything (other than the original purchase cost of the rights of course).

Also, if the resale agreement allows you to give the product away, how about offering it as an incentive to visitors to sign up for your newsletter? This gives surfers a real reason to join your mailing list because they are going to get something of value right away for absolutely nothing. Think about it, how many of you subscribed to this newsletter just because you wanted the free eBooks on offer? :-)

In summary, products with resale rights offer you so many options in how they may be used that, if you are selling online, you really should consider using these products to your advantage. I have been doing so for 3 years and trust me - it works!
